About Me

My name is Aimee Lynn Marbury and I was born and raised in central Mississippi. My home church is Word of Life in Flowood, MS and is the reason that I am here today. I began attending WOLC in January 2013 and eight months later I found myself boarding a plane to live in Africa for three months to do missions work (something that I would never have imagined myself doing).

When I returned home, I viewed life through a different lens. I was no longer satisfied with the life that I had been living, and was desperate for a change. I went on another short trip to Thailand and came home more restless than other, begging God to send me to do something fulfilling. And He did.

I was introduced through the program Center for Global Action during my attempts to lead a three month trip this spring. I am working for Adventures in Missions as an apprentice and take classes as well on leadership, identity in Christ, professionalism and various other things.

My dream is that God will utilize my semester here to go out and lead international mission trips. I have never felt so satisfied with this thing called life until I was spending most of my energy connecting with people that can’t understand a word I am saying. I also have big dreams to go on the World Race one day, an eleven month trip that ministers to eleven countries throughout the world.

Returning home a changed person for the better this December is my main focus. God is doing some amazing things in Georgia and I am so excited to see what the future holds.
